News India Live, Digital Desk: Indian Air Force Readiness : The Indian Air Force is going to conduct a major war in Northeast India, near the borders of China and Bangladesh. This is not just a routine military preparation, but also a strong political message. This exercise will run from November 13 to November 20 and the Air Force will show its full strength in it. During this time, all the major fighter aircraft like Rafale, Sukhoi-30MKI, Tejas, Mirage-2000 and Jaguar will showcase their power in the sky.

Why is this maneuver so special?

This military exercise is taking place at a time when there has been an increase in tension in relations with India since the ouster of Sheikh Hasina from power in Bangladesh. The main objective of this exercise is to test the deployment and retaliatory capability of the Air Force on the sensitive borders with China, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh. During the exercise, the capability of cyber and electronic warfare systems to coordinate with ground forces will also be assessed.

A clear message to neighboring countries

Experts believe that this exercise is a clear signal from India that it is not ready to make any compromise regarding the security of its borders. In recent times, some such steps have been taken by Bangladesh, which have increased New Delhi’s concerns:

  • Disputed map: Bangladesh’s interim leader Muhammad Yunus shared a controversial map of northeast India during his meeting with a Pakistani army general and a Turkish parliamentary delegation.
  • Invitation to China: Yunus invited China for talks with Bangladesh and drew international attention to the ‘Siliguri Corridor’ (also known as ‘Chicken Neck’) by describing India’s seven northeastern states as ‘landlocked’.

These activities are a strategic challenge for India. At the same time, despite several rounds of border talks with China, India does not want to leave any stone unturned in its preparations.

For this major exercise, the Indian Air Force has also issued a ‘Notice to Airmen’ (NOTAM) covering the entire North-Eastern region, so that the safety of civil flights can be ensured during this period. While the ‘Trishul 2025’ exercise on the western border has recently been completed, now this exercise on the eastern border strengthens India’s preparations on two fronts simultaneously.
