Movie Director Sanoj Mishra arrested in rape case: Delhi Police has arrested the director Sanoj Mishra, who served a viral girl Monalisa, who sold garlands at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela. Nabi Karim Police Station took this action after the Delhi High Court rejected his bail plea. Sanoj Mishra is accused of sexually abusing a young woman from Jhansi by luring her to work in films and then intimidating her.
The victim said, “I met Sanoj Mishra in 2020 via tickets and Instagram.” At that time I lived in Jhansi. After a while, on 17 June 2021, Sanoj called me and said that I have reached Jhansi railway station.
Called to meet by threatening suicide
I refused to meet him, citing social pressure, but Sanoj threatened to commit suicide. I went to meet him in fear. The next day on 18 June 2021, Sanoj again called me the railway station and threatened to commit suicide and from there took me to a resort where he raped me by feeding me intoxicants.
Rape by luring work
The victim has said in her FIR that Sanoj had made my objectionable pictures and videos and threatened that if I opposed it, she would make them public. After that Sanoj called me several times in different places, pretended to marry, made physical relations with me and lured me to work in films. With this hope, I went to Mumbai and started living with Sanoj. There too, Sanoj continued to exploit me and beat me several times.
Porn photos and videos threatened to make viral on social media
The victim has alleged that Sanoj forced her to abortion thrice. In February 2025, Sanoj left me and threatened that he would make my pornographic photos and videos viral on social media if complained.
Delhi Police has registered a case against Sanoj Mishra on the victim’s complaint. He has been arrested after investigation. Sanoj approached the Delhi High Court for bail, but the court rejected his application. The police then took him into custody.
The matter came into the discussion when Sanoj’s name was related to the viral girl Monalisa of Mahakumbh Mela, which she claimed to take in her film ‘The Manipur Diary’. The police is now investigating the case.
