RBI rules: Now all bank branches will remain open even on holidays, RBI issued order

The bank has taken a big decision on the request of the government. According to the latest order of RBI, bank branches will remain open on Sunday, March 31, 2024. This decision to keep banks open on Sunday has been taken in view of the transactions related to receipts and payments of the Government of India. After this order of RBI, all the branches of banks will remain open.

According to the RBI circular, “Banks are advised to keep all their branches related to government business open on Sunday, March 31, 2024. All agency banks will also be open to the public on Sunday.” It is clear from this circular that along with government work, banks will also work for the general public. On this day, all the facilities provided to the general public will continue as before. This notification has been issued through RBI Chief General Manager Sunil TS Nair.

All transactions have been settled

Every year March 31 is the last day of the financial year. All government related transactions should ideally be settled on this day. Due to this, transactions through National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system will continue till 12 midnight on March 31.
