New Delhi: ICC has announced its best T20 team for the year 2024. Four Indian players have got a place in this team, but the surprising thing is that Virat Kohli, who played a brilliant half-century in the final of T20 World Cup 2024, was not included. The captaincy of the team has been handed over to Rohit Sharma, who had performed well in the T20 World Cup last year.
Rohit Sharma’s brilliant performance
Rohit Sharma scored 378 runs in 11 T20 matches in 2024, with a strike rate of 160.16 and an average of 42. He scored three half-centuries in the World Cup. After winning the World Cup, both Rohit and Virat retired from the T20 format.
Dominance of Indian players
India’s Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya have also been included in the team. Bumrah took 15 wickets in eight matches in 2024, while Arshdeep Singh proved his ability by taking 36 wickets in 18 matches. As an all-rounder, Hardik Pandya scored 352 runs in 17 matches and took 16 wickets.
Players from other countries also got place
Apart from India, players from Australia, England, Pakistan, West Indies, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka have been included in this team. No New Zealand player could make a place in this team.

This selection has been made keeping in mind the performance of the players in 2024. It is a matter of pride for Indian cricket fans that four Indian players got a place in the team, but the absence of Virat Kohli remains a topic of discussion.
