News India Live, Digital Desk: Political Earthquake in Karnataka: Two most important words written in the Preamble of the Constitution of the country – ‘Socialist’ (Socialist) And ‘Secular’ (secular) – A big political and legal dispute has arisen about it. The Youth Congress has lodged a police complaint against him in Karnataka regarding a statement by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Dattatreya Hosbale.

What is the whole controversy?

It is alleged that Dattatreya Hosbale said in a program that the words ‘Socialist’ and ‘Secular’ were “undemocratically” added to the Constitution and are “unnecessary”. The Congress became enraged as soon as this statement came out.

The legal branch of the Karnataka Youth Congress did not take it lightly. He reached the High Grounds Police Station in Bangalore directly and lodged an FIR against Hosbale.

What have you alleged by Youth Congress?

Youth Congress says that this is not just a statement, but a gross insult to the constitution and its manufacturers of the country. In his complaint, he said:

• This is an attempt to divide the country: Hosbale’s statement is going to create hatred and enmity between different groups in the society.

• Religious sentiments were hurt: This statement has been deliberately made with the intention of hurting the religious sentiments of the citizens.

• This is a thoughtful conspiracy: The Youth Congress has described it as the “hidden agenda” of BJP and RSS, under which they want to change the constitution of the country.

He has demanded action against Hosbale under several serious sections of the IPC (eg 153A, 295A, 505), which is associated with spreading hatred and breach of peace in the society.

The matter is no longer limited to political statements, but has taken the form of a legal battle. This controversy is again giving air to the debate that what is the meaning of these words settled at the core of India’s identity and can anyone challenge them?
