Meerut, 02 September (HS). On Monday, a day before the convocation ceremony at Chaudhary Charan Singh University, the workers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) created a ruckus over corruption. The students accused the Vice Chancellor of corruption and attacked his office. The RRF jawans lathicharged the students. Angered by this, the students vandalized the Vice Chancellor's office and sat on an indefinite strike.
A few days ago, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad created a ruckus in the Chaudhary Charan Singh University by accusing Vice Chancellor Prof. Sangeeta Shukla of corruption and gave a week's time to fulfill their demands. When the demands were not met even after a week, ABVP Meerut province announced a protest on September 2. The state's Governor and Chancellor Anand Ben Patel is coming to attend the convocation on September 3. A day before the convocation, on Monday, ABVP workers from many districts reached the university in buses and sat on a dharna outside the Vice Chancellor's office.
Led by ABVP's Meerut Metropolitan President Dr. Dharmendra Ahlawat, the students accused the Vice Chancellor of corruption and demanded that she be called to the spot, but the Vice Chancellor did not come to the spot. Later, when the Vice Chancellor arrived at the spot, the students started accusing her of corruption. After this, when the Vice Chancellor went back from there, the students started creating a ruckus and attacked the Vice Chancellor's office. There was a scuffle between the students and the police as well. After this, the RRF jawans lathi-charged the students. This caused a stampede and many students were injured. The angry students broke the pots kept outside the Vice Chancellor's office and also tried to uproot the shutter of the office. The students raised slogans against the Vice Chancellor and sat on an indefinite strike. A day before the arrival of the Governor, the echo of the ABVP's movement reached Lucknow and efforts to calm the movement began. State Minister of the State Government Dr. Somendra Tomar also reached the university. In the evening, ABVP's regional organization minister Manoj Nikhra also reached the university and took information about the entire matter from the students.
