Sadhu or political issue? When Purnia MP asked who is Dhirendra Krishna Shastri? Earthquake in Bihar politics

Posts

News India Live, Digital Desk: There has been a deep relationship between politics and religion in the soil of Bihar, but sometimes this relationship becomes so bitter that the decorum of rhetoric starts breaking. Nowadays Baba Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham is being discussed everywhere, but a recent statement by Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has created a new ‘whirlwind’ in the political and religious circles of the state.

The matter is not just of disagreement, but of direct attack. In fact, amidst the Bihar tour of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri and the increasing impact of his stories, Pappu Yadav asked in clear words, “After all, who is this Dhirendra Shastri? And how can we lift anyone up and make him sit on the throne of God or storyteller?”

attack with harsh words
Pappu Yadav’s anger did not stop here. He reportedly made comments in which he took a dig at the system by mentioning words like ‘thief’ and ‘imposter’. He believes that the path of religion should be of service and not of spectacle. This strict attitude of the MP has not only hurt the followers of Dhirendra Shastri, but has also given an opportunity to those political parties which remain vocal in the name of Hindutva and faith.

What are the general public thinking?
From a common man’s point of view, this battle appears to be one of faith versus logic. While Baba’s supporters are calling it a lamentation by those who are jealous of his popularity, the MP’s supporters are calling it a voice raised against hypocrisy. Anyway, Pappu Yadav is known for his outspokenness, but this time the matter is related to an organization with a huge support base like Bageshwar Dham, so this fight does not seem to be resolved so easily.

Politics and concerns
Another aspect behind this debate is whether Dhirendra Shastri’s coming to Bihar is preparing the ground for the upcoming elections? Pappu Yadav’s comments are being considered a part of the same siege. Overall, this spark that arose from Purnia has now become the biggest topic of discussion on WhatsApp groups and tea stalls across Bihar. Now it remains to be seen how Baba Bageshwar’s ‘Divya Darbar’ retaliates on this.
