Sanjeev Goenka’s social media posts: The last match of Lucknow Super Giants was against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant scored a century in these matches. Rishabh Pant was bought by Lucknow team in the IPL 2025 auction, making him the most expensive player in the history of IPL. Lucknow Super Giants franchise bought him for Rs 27 crore. But he could not perform anything special in this season. He scored only 1 half -century and 1 century throughout the season and failed to score more than 30 runs.
The journey of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025 is over. LSG’s performance under the leadership of Rishabh Pant in this season was disappointing. The team could taste victory in only 6 out of 14 matches. At the same time, the team suffered a crushing defeat in 8 matches. Pant’s bat, which was sold for Rs 27 crore, also flopped badly this season. However, in the last match of the league phase, Pant first appeared in form and scored a century. Despite the captain’s century, Lucknow suffered defeat against RCB.

LSG team owner Sanjeev Goenka has written a long post for captain and team on his social media account. In a post shared on social media, he wrote, “As it is towards the end of IPL season @Lucknowipl, we look at a journey full of victory and challenges.” Our team’s fighter spirit, unity and flexibility were notable. We were committed, supported each other and never gave up. Thank you. @Rishabhpant17 to fulfill his heart and give his best to every player of the team. Thank you.
Goenka thanked Pant for leading the team with full devotion. Along with this, he has also praised all the coaches and team staff. Significantly, Sanjeev Goenka was unhappy with Pant’s batting and team’s performance in many matches, a video of which also went viral on social media.
