The body of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar, who went missing on Friday, has been found in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. Mukesh was a well-known name in journalism on Naxalite issues across the country. He was missing since January 1. But two days later, on Friday, the body of journalist Mukesh was found in a septic tank built in a contractor’s construction company. A few days ago Mukesh had exposed corruption.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has expressed grief over the murder of the journalist. He said that the news of the murder of young and dedicated journalist Mukesh Chandrakar of Bijapur is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. Mukesh played an important role in the talks between the government and Naxalites for the release of CRPF jawan Rakeshwar Manhas kidnapped in Tekulgudem.
CRPF jawan saved from Naxalites
Journalist Mukesh Chandrakar was a resident of Bijapur. He was reporting on Naxalite and local issues. He also conducted several sting operations on corruption and bribery. Recently he had exposed the scam in road construction. Mukesh also used to do journalism among Naxalites. On the basis of his journalism, he saved a CRPF jawan from the clutches of Naxalites. In the year 2021, 23 soldiers were martyred in Naxalite attack. During this time, Naxalites kidnapped a soldier. When Mukesh came to know about this, he talked to the Naxalites. He requested the Naxalites to bring the soldier on their bike.
Many marks were found on the body of the deceased
Police recovered the body from the septic tank at around 7 pm on Friday evening. Wound marks were found at 8-10 places on the dead body. The owner of the construction company is contractor and state general secretary of the Scheduled Caste Department of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, Suresh Chandrakar. Chhattisgarh CM said that no criminal involved in this incident will be spared. Meanwhile, journalists have also announced a Bijapur bandh on Saturday in protest against the incident.
Brutal murder of Mukesh Chandrakar
Looking at the dead body it was clear that the journalist had been brutally murdered. Injuries were also found on the back of the head. After the murder the body was thrown into the septic tank. After this it was plastered over so that no one would know about the incident. At around 4.30 pm on Friday evening, the police broke the floor of the septic tank. After this a dead body was found inside.
