News India Live, Digital Desk: Ladakh: After several days of stressful atmosphere, schools up to class 8th in Leh have been reopened today. This news has brought relief for the people of Ladakh and especially children, whose schools were closed for a few days. However, the schools of classes 9th and above will remain closed right now and it is seen how the atmosphere is, after which they will be decided.

Let me tell you that for some time the atmosphere in Leh was very hot. There was a major demonstration after the arrest of social and environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk. Protests were going on over demands like inclusion of ‘Sixth Schedule’ (Sixth Schedule of the Constitution) and giving full state status, causing unrest in the area. Due to these deteriorating conditions, the administration had ordered the schools to be closed so that the safety of children can be ensured and any untoward untoward could be avoided.

Now that schools of small classes are open, it is a good sign that the situation in Leh is gradually becoming normal. This decision has been taken so that there is no loss of children’s education. The administration is still taking precaution and monitoring. It is expected that in the coming days the atmosphere will be completely peaceful and schools of all classes will be able to open normally as before. Children going to school is not only necessary for their studies, but it is also an important symbol of the return of normal life.
