News India Live, Digital Desk: Sleeping from the party line, senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid appreciated the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Khurshid was one of the delegations that went abroad to highlight Pakistan’s role in terrorism.

It is noteworthy that the Center removed Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, a special state given to the erstwhile state (now Union Territory).

Indonesian think tank And while addressing the academics, the former Union Minister also said that the Union Territory has made progress since the removal of Article 370. He said that today there is a government in this region which has been elected after the successful election in this area. The news agency ANI quoted Khurshid as saying, “There was a big problem in Kashmir for a long time. A large part of it was reflected in the government’s thinking in Article 370 of the Constitution, which somehow showed that it was different from the rest of the country. But Article 370 was canceled and finally it was abolished.”

He said, “Elections were held after this and 65% of the people participated in it. Today there is an elected government in Kashmir and hence people want to be replaced by what has happened and the prosperity that has come in Kashmir should be brought back.

It is worth noting that Khurshid is the new leader of the Congress who has taken a different stand from the party line. Earlier, Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tiwari have also done this. Tharoor exposed Pakistan’s poll during his delegation’s foreign tours, while Tiwari said in a press conference that the US does not interfere in the measuring ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
