Released from prison?
According to mythological beliefs, when Hanumanji reached Lanka in search of Mata Sita, Shanidev was kept captive in a prison there. Then when Bajrangbali asked Shanidev why are you hanging upside down? Then Shanidev said that Ravana has joined many other planets with him with his yogic power. Then Hanumanji freed Shanidev from Ravana's captivity. Pleased with this, Shanidev asked Hanumanji to ask for a boon. Then Hanumanji said that you will never trouble my worshippers. Therefore it is said that to get rid of Shani's wrath or Sadesati, Hanumanji should be worshipped.

Shanidev had broken the worship!
According to another myth, there was a time when Hanumanji was engrossed in chanting Lord Ram's name. Just then Shani Dev passed by. Shani Dev, drowned in ego, tried to put pressure on Hanumanji's chanting. Shani Dev made several attempts to distract him. That is, he also tried to scare him by showing the ego of power. But Hanumanji did not budge. Shani Dev's anger reached the seventh sky. Finally Shani Dev challenged him. Hanuman Ji told Shani Dev that I am currently taking care of my beloved Lord Ram. Please do not disturb my peace. Shani Dev held Hanumanji's hand.

Bajrangbali got angry and wrapped Shani Dev in his moustache. However, Shani Dev continued to taunt him and said that even your Lord Rama cannot do anything to me. Then Hanumanji got angry and wrapped Shani Dev in his moustache and started beating him on a stone. Shani Dev has now passed away. Finally Shani Dev apologized. Then Hanumanji said that do not do this in future and do not torture my devotees. Since then Shani Dev does not trouble the devotees who worship Hanumanji.
