Shreyas Iyer was seen using his intelligence a lot in the Buchi Babu tournament. In the first innings against TNCA XI, when Mumbai team was looking desperate for wickets, Shreyas Iyer acted sensibly and was seen adopting Sunil Narine's method and approach. Even though he could not bring success to Mumbai, his bowling action came into the limelight.
Shreyas Iyer imitates Sunil Narine
Team India's batsmen have now started bowling as well, this is clearly visible after Gautam Gambhir became the head coach. But the style of another big bowler and the passion to take wickets was seen in the bowling of Shreyas Iyer in the Buchi Babu tournament.
It did not even look like Iyer was bowling!
Shreyas Iyer bowled an over for Mumbai on the first day of the match against TNCA XI. But, that over seemed more like Sunil Narine's over than that. Because, in this Iyer was seen mimicking Sunil Narine. Just like Narine keeps his hands behind his back, Iyer was also seen keeping his hands behind his back, so that the batsman does not know which ball he is going to bowl. Iyer gave 7 runs in his only over bowled on the first day of the match.
Mumbai batsmen will have to work harder
Batting first, the TNCA XI team batted brilliantly in the first innings. They are looking for a big score. It remains to be seen how the Mumbai team, which has players like Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav and Sarfaraz Khan, responds.
