New Delhi. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has opened a box of happiness for the general public and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). In a historic decision, RBI has directly increased the unsecured loan limit from ₹ 10 lakh to ₹ 20 lakh. This step of the committee headed by Governor Shaktikanta Das will increase the credit flow in the country and will provide great help to the middle class and small businessmen in meeting their financial needs.
What is loan without guarantee and why was this decision taken?
An unsecured loan is one for which there is no need to pledge any gold, land or property with a bank or financial institution.
Doubled limit: Till now the maximum limit of such loan was ₹ 10 lakh, which has now been doubled to ₹ 20 lakh.
Speed up the economy: The main objective of RBI is to strengthen the MSME sector and promote consumption in the market. With this decision, more funds will be easily available to startups and self-employed youth.
There will be a boom in banking and fintech sector
This step of RBI will provide great strength not only to traditional banks but also to Fintech companies and digital lending platforms.
Easy Finance: Small businessmen will now be able to take loans of large amounts to expand their business without any fear of losing any property.

What will change for loan borrowers? (RBI Loan Rules Update)
After this decision of RBI, banks and NBFCs will soon launch their new loan products. However, some conditions will still apply:
Importance of Credit Score: Since the loan is unsecured, your CIBIL Score And the source of income will play the most important role in getting the loan.
Interest Rates: As the loan amount increases, banks will decide the interest rates based on your credit profile.
Ability to repay: Experts advise that increasing the loan limit does not mean that you should take more loan than necessary. Before taking a loan, definitely assess your repayment capacity.
