Sirsa, 3 October (Hindustan Reporter). Based on the information received, the Excise Department team raided the liquor vend in village Farwahi Kalan and on the spot, the vend was found open and the salesman of the vend was found selling liquor. It is noteworthy that October 2 was declared a dry day on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. Due to violation of the rules of Excise Policy 2024-25, the contract was sealed for a week and the case was sent to higher authorities for imposing penalty.
Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner (Excise) Alok Pasi said that Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer Sukhbir Singh, Excise Inspector Ashok Kumar staff were present in the team. In compliance with the orders of the Election Commission, in view of the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024, liquor related businesses will remain closed from 6:00 pm on 3 October 2024 till the end of voting on 5 October 2024.
In this regard, all liquor contractors/licensees have been instructed not to sell liquor by opening the contract or through any window of the contract, otherwise in addition to the sealing and fine proceedings, FIR related action will be taken against the guilty licensee. In view of the elections, all the government agencies in the district including Police Department, Excise Department, CIA Special Staff are continuously checking.
