The bone-chilling westerly winds in Bihar for the last few days had left people in distress, but now the wind speed has slowed down a bit, which has brought some relief from the harsh cold. The night temperature, which had fallen below 10 degrees, has now risen slightly.
But with this relief a new trouble has knocked, and that is dense fog.
‘Zero visibility’ on roads early in the morning
Nowadays, the morning in Bihar is as if someone has covered it with a white sheet. The fog is so dense that it is difficult to see even 10-20 meters ahead. Its biggest impact is being seen on highways and roads, where the speed of vehicles has been slowed down. The Meteorological Department has warned that this trend may continue for the next 48 hours.
Attention Dense fog will affect these 19 districts
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be dense fog in 19 districts including Patna, Gaya, Aurangabad, Buxar, Bhojpur, Nalanda, Darbhanga, Jamui, Champaran, Rohtas during late night and morning. In such a situation, if you are leaving the house in the morning, especially school-going children and office workers, they have been advised to take extra precautions.
How will the weather be today?
- temperature: The cold has softened a bit due to reduced wind speed. Today the maximum temperature of the day is expected to be between 26 to 32 degrees and the minimum temperature of the night is expected to be between 12 to 18 degrees Celsius.
- Air: Dry wind will blow at a speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour.
- Problem: This dry air and the moisture present in the air together can make the fog even more dense.
Combo of ‘cold + fog’ for next one week
The Meteorological Department predicts that this cocktail of cold and fog will continue in Bihar for the next one week (from 21 to 27 November). Not much change is expected in the night temperature, but dense fog will remain a challenge in the early morning. So even though the grip of cold has loosened a bit, fog has made the weather difficult again.
