Nainital, 03 September (HS). A program on the topic 'India's space journey' was organized by the Department of Physics at the DSB campus of Kumaun University on Tuesday. Chief guest Vice Chancellor Prof. Diwan Rawat said that India has achieved remarkable success in the field of space. Today we are getting accurate information about the weather and Chandrayaan-3 has taken ISRO's efforts to new heights.
Students of MSc 3rd semester of Physics department depicted various space programmes of ISRO through drama. Research scholars Charita Pant and Asha highlighted 'Indian women in space travel' and 'Aditya L-1'. In the speech competition, Shweta Pant of BSc 5th semester, Diksha Pandey and Rahul Karmayal of BSc 3rd semester secured first, second and third positions respectively. Head of the department Prof. Sanjay Pant presented the outline of the programme. Director Prof. Neeta Bora Sharma described the participation of women in space missions as commendable. The programme was conducted by Prof. Seema Pandey. The jury comprised Prof. Bimal Pandey, Prof. Ramesh Chandra and Prof. Alok Durgapal.
