The number of slower deliveries the bowlers have bowled in this match is unparalleled. Eight bowlers were used by Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka. Shikhar Dhawan’s 40 was the highest score in the Indian Innings. The pitch at R Premadasa Stadium has played in favour of bowlers so far. The Indian batsmen failed to convert a good start into a decent score.
Well, the story of Sri Lanka’s innings was not very different. They kept on losing wickets and scoring became difficult. Sakariya went for a few runs but other bowlers were all economical. It was a tight contest but in the end, Sri Lanka prevailed.
