Ukraine has recently tested its new long -range cruise missile ‘Long Neptune’ and has already been used in the war against Russia. Giving information about this, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelancesi said that his army has achieved significant success in the missile program. Zelansky said that now we have a new Ukrainian missile, which is capable of penetrating the target in an infallible manner. Its range is one thousand kilometers i.e. 630 miles. He expressed gratitude to scientists, manufacturers and soldiers developing this missile.
What is Long Neptune missile?
Long Neptune missile Ukraine’s R-360 Neptune is a large and advanced version of anti-ship missiles. It is a truck -launched subconic missile, which was originally designed to attack only maritime goals, but Ukraine has been able to modify it and enable it to attack the targets located on the ground. It has been developed by the Ukrainian defense manufacturer ‘Luch Design Bureau’. Last year, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustom Urumov said that the production of Neptune missiles has been increased and now they have been advanced for long distance attacks. Earlier this missile could attack for about 200 miles, but now its firepower has increased to 1000 km.
Attack on important Russian bases
Ukraine has previously used Neptune missiles to attack important Russian bases. In 2022, Ukraine destroyed ‘Moskwa’, the major warship of Russia’s Black Sea fleet with this missile. In addition, this missile has also been used at Russia’s most advanced air defense batteries and oil terminals. Sources said the long Neptune missile was used to attack an oil refinery in the Russian city of Tuapase last week. The refinery was located 300 miles from the war zone. It is believed that the attack was carried out to damage Russia’s energy supply and weaken its economy.
