Israel has carried out air strikes on the capital Damascus, at the same time when the fierce battle between President Bashar al-Assad’s government army and local Druj groups in the southern part of the country has intensified. There have been reports between these fresh clashes that the attempt to mediate Russia between the government and the Druz groups has failed. Druj leaders say their demands are not only limited to economic issues, but they want more autonomy in political reforms and local rule. In view of this deteriorating situation, the Syrian National Coalition (SNC) has urged the United Nations to immediately intervene to provide security to the citizens of Sweda. This deepening crisis indicates that Syria is still a far -fetched penny and due to regional and internal stresses, the situation can take serious form at any time. This double crisis, including external attacks and internal rebellion, is making the Syrian landscape even more complicated, where innocent citizens often pay the biggest price.
