‘No one can believe how we lost’
In this conversation of about 45 minutes, Tejashwi Yadav raised questions on the defeat of the Grand Alliance and said, “No one is able to understand how the Grand Alliance, which was on 75 seats, suddenly came down to 25. The people of Bihar wanted change, more votes were cast than before, but the results were just the opposite. This election is not the victory of the people, but of the ‘machinery’.”
Raised questions on EVM again, said- ‘Invisible forces defeated’
Tejashwi once again pointed fingers at the reliability of EVMs. He claimed that in the counting of postal ballots, the Grand Alliance was ahead on 143 seats, but as soon as the EVMs were opened, all the results were overturned. Making direct allegations, he said, “There was some invisible force working in EVM, which did not want change in Bihar.”
’40 thousand crores distributed before elections’
During the conversation, Tejashwi made another sensational allegation. He said that just 10 days before the elections, about Rs 40 thousand crores were distributed “like bribes”. He said that BJP adopted every wrong method to win the elections. He also said that the schemes which we had put forward in our manifesto like increasing the pension, were presented in a distorted manner.
Called the Election Commission ‘dishonest’
Tejashwi also launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission and called it “dishonest”. He raised the question why CCTV footage of voting is kept safe only for 45 days? If the election is transparent, why is this footage not kept for a year or more?
After these statements of Tejashwi, the politics of Bihar has heated up. The opposition is calling it an attack on democracy, while the ruling party is calling these allegations a political statement made out of frustration of defeat.
