The District Election Officer made the representatives of political parties aware of the updated guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
In the light of the instructions of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, the work of rationalization of polling stations has been started under special intensive revision 2025. In this sequence, an important meeting was held with representatives of recognized political parties related to all 09 assembly constituencies under West Champaran district under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-district officer, Shri Dharmendra Kumar. The meeting discussed the rationalization of polling stations in the district.
The District Election Officer welcomed and greeted the representatives of all the present political parties and explained in detail about the rationalization of polling stations. He apprised the representatives of the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India.
The District Election Officer said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the polling stations have been rationalized by considering the number of 1200 electors as the basis of 01.07.2025.
He said that all concerned persons and political parties are invited to present any claim, objection or suggestion in writing in relation to the draft list of polling stations of all nine Vidhan Sabha constituencies of West Champaran district. These can be deposited in the District Election Office, West Champaran, Bettiah during office time from 30 June, 2025 to 06 July, 2025. All claims, objections and suggestions received will be investigated and action will be taken as per rules. It was also clarified that objections/suggestions received after the due date will not be accepted and only those objections will be valid that are received within the prescribed format and time frame.
The representatives were also requested to investigate all the proposed polling stations from their level. If a polling station building is collapsed/shabby or the voters are inconvenience due to the change, then the claim/objection can be submitted in the District Election Office, West Champaran, Bettiah within the stipulated period.
Representatives of political parties, including District Deputy Election Officer, Mr. Lal Bahadur Rai, Under Election Officer, Mr. Yarshok Ranjan, Mr. Vivek Kumar Singh were present on the occasion.
