The dream of becoming a teacher in UP will come true! TET advertisement released after 4 years; Applications will start from March 27, know the new dates of OTR and exam:

Prayagraj/Lucknow. There is great news for the youth who are looking forward to becoming government teachers in Uttar Pradesh. The newly created Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the official advertisement of ‘Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test’ (UPTET)-2026 on Friday, March 20. This examination was last conducted in the state in 2021, after which the candidates were continuously waiting for the notification. The Commission has clarified that this examination will be conducted for both primary (classes 1 to 5) and upper primary (classes 6 to 8) levels.

As per the schedule released by UPESSC Deputy Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, the application process will start right after Holi:

Start of Online Registration: 27 March 2026

Last date of application: 26 April 2026

Last date of amendment: 01 May 2026 (with fees)

Exam Dates: 2, 3 and 4 July 2026

OTR (One Time Registration) becomes mandatory

This time the Commission has made a major change in the application process. Now for UPTET OTR (One Time Registration) Has been made mandatory. Candidates have been advised to visit the Commission’s website before 27th March. upessc.up.gov.in Go to and get your OTR number. Without OTR it will not be possible to fill the main application form.

Government teachers also got a chance

This time the Commission has also opened the doors of application for working government teachers. If a current teacher wants to improve his/her eligibility or qualify for upper primary level, he/she can apply. Such candidates will have to compulsorily provide details like their ‘Human Asset Code’ and date of joining.
