Fake marriages are on the rise in Singapore. Foreign girls are marrying Singapore men to get Singapore citizenship. The Singapore government is quite surprised by these marriages. Singapore also has strict laws to prevent such marriages. These fake marriages are organized by an organized gang. Due to this, social problems are increasing in Singapore.
Cases of fake marriages are increasing rapidly
Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) recently reported that 32 cases of ‘fake marriage’ were reported between January and September 2024. Whereas in the same period of 2023, only 4 cases were reported. This increase has alerted the authorities.
