Dehradun, August 18 (HS). Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress President Karan Mahara described the incidents of rape as an act that tarnishes humanity and brings shame. He said that no amount of condemnation of such misdeeds would be enough.
Karan Mahara said that even after the horrific incident with the female doctor in Kolkata, the governments did not wake up, the result of which is the brutal murder of the female nurse after rape in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand and the rape of a young woman in ISBT, Dehradun. The spirits of the elements involved in crimes against women are high. They have no fear of the law.
Mahara, while accusing the state government, said that during the two and a half years of the Dhami government, there has been a flood of heinous crimes like murder, theft, robbery, rape in the state. He said that today the state of Uttarakhand stands at the first position in the incidents of crime against women. He also said that the way incidents of anarchy, theft, robbery, loot and atrocities against women have occurred in the state for the last few years, the rule of law has completely ended. Women are feeling unsafe in the state. The state Congress president said that the Uttarakhand Congress demands strict action against the criminals from the Dhami government. The state Congress will warn the government by observing a silent fast for one hour on Rakshabandhan festival on August 19.
