China has the longest border with 15 countries in the world, while the international border between the United States and Canada is the longest, but you may be surprised to know that the world’s shortest range is only 85 meters long. This unique border is located between Spain and Morocco. The entire limit is connected to two small rocks. The rock is named Penon de la Gomera, which is located in North Africa.
The world’s smallest boundary has special significance. The total area of the rock is about 19,000 square meters. It was captured by Spanish General Pedro de Estopin in 1564. Since then, this border has been a part of Spain. Morocco requested several times in this regard, but Spain never left the region. Spanish soldiers are guarding in a row. The border of Spain is 2,000 km long, with Portugal and France.
Apart from this, there are some other countries like Andora, Gibraltar and Morocco. The 85 -meter border with Morocco connects the village of Simapan to the banks of Morocco. Previously, this rock was considered an island, but a powerful earthquake in 1934 turned it into a small route. Since then, this 85 meter long road is considered to be the smallest international border in the world. A contingent of Spanish soldiers changes every month for safety.
This is an area where clean drinking water and even electricity is not available. Spanish naval provides necessary supply to soldiers through ships. In 2012, some people from Morocco climbed a small mountain. The flag of Spain was removed and the flag of Morocco was replaced. The soldiers thwarted this small attack and again set up the Spanish flag. Although the region is far from the terrestrial range of Spain, Spain does not want to hand over it to Morocco.
