News India Live, Digital Desk: The life teachings given by Mahatma Vidur to Maharaja Dhritarashtra are known as ‘Vidur Neeti’. According to Vidur ji, a wise person is the one who recognizes his weaknesses. He has mentioned 5 big mistakes or habits which can put any happy and prosperous person on the verge of ruin.
1. Laziness: The biggest enemy of success
According to Vidur Niti, Lakshmi never lasts for a lazy person. The person who postpones today’s work till tomorrow not only loses the opportunity but also gradually loses his reputation in the society. Laziness dulls a person’s intelligence.
2. Anger: Destroyer of conscience
Vidur ji says that anger is a fire which burns itself before burning others. An angry person loses his mental balance and takes decisions that lead to his destruction. Even the relatives of an angry person leave him.
3. Excessive Attachment
Blind attachment towards any thing or person makes a person forget the difference between right and wrong. Just as Dhritarashtra’s attachment towards his sons led to the destruction of Mahabharata, similarly excessive attachment destroys a person’s decision making ability.
4. Ego: The first step of downfall
According to Vidur Niti, when a person becomes proud of his power, position or wealth, he starts insulting others. Ego makes a person narcissistic, due to which he is unable to see his mistakes and ultimately his downfall is certain.
5. Jealousy of the progress of others
The person who, instead of making his own line bigger, is busy in making others’ line smaller, can never be happy. Jealousy destroys a person’s positive energy and makes him entangled in conspiracies, which later prove fatal for him.
