News India Live, Digital Desk: A great news has come for central employees! Taking a very important decision, the Modi government has announced a 30 -day special holiday to government employees on donating organs. Now they will not have to use any other holiday, casual leave, earned leave or medical leave to donate organ, but they will get a separate ‘special leave’ including salary. The Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT), working under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance and Pension, has issued a circular to all government ministries and departments in this regard. The main objective of the government behind this decision is that organ donation should be promoted in the country and no employee lags back from this noble work for fear of his service bounds or salary. According to the new policy, if a central employee donates his limb or tissue to another person, he will get a maximum special holiday. The special thing is that during this period there will be no cut in his salary, that is, he will continue to get the benefit of full salary. This special holiday will start from the day the organ or tissue will be extracted, and it can also be taken from the date of discharge from the hospital on the recommendation of the medical expert. However, in some extraordinary cases, if the recipient (recipe) is facing serious health complications, then the department may decide to extend the duration of this holiday for a maximum of 42 days on the basis of the head of department. It will also be mandatory to ensure that this holiday is used only for the real purpose of organ donation. It is considered a far -reaching step to encourage government employees to become partners in important tasks like moving forward for social welfare and saving lives.
