Three smugglers dealing in fake notes arrested

Badaun, 24 July (HS). Alpur police station arrested three counterfeit currency smugglers sitting in a car near Gautra Tiraha. During police interrogation, the arrested accused revealed their names as Manoj, Abhay Gupta and Gaurav Gupta.

SP City Amit Kishore Srivastava told in a press conference that Alpur police station received information that three smugglers in a car deal in fake notes and are trying to sell fake notes. When the police raided a car parked near Gautra Tiraha on the information of the informer, three people were found sitting in it. When the police searched them, 6400 rupees (fake notes) were recovered from them. This included some 200 rupee notes and some 500 rupee notes.

SP City said that the three accused told that they had gone to Delhi a few days ago. In Delhi, they got in touch with a person named Bhagat Ji alias Neta Ji, a resident of Haridwar and they took one lakh fake currency notes by paying 30 thousand rupees. The three accused divided the money among themselves. They were trying to spend the remaining money among people. By then the police arrested them on the information of an informer. At present, the police have registered a case under sections 318 (4), 178, 179, 180 and seized the car used in the business.
