Travel advice to Indians: The Indian Embassy has issued a travel advice for Indians living in Cambodia and traveling to Cambodia. Indians have been advised to avoid visiting religious and tourist places in Cambodia. The advice states that Indians living in Cambodia should stay away from protests and crowds as they may be violent. Travel to cities on the Thailand-Kambodia border can be dangerous. Major tourist destinations such as Siem Reap and Angkor Wat are considered safe, but caution should be taken.

The advisory has been released due to the border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia, due to which the border between the two countries is temporarily closed. In May and July 2025, tension on the border between the two countries increased, causing areas such as Prayha Vihier Temple, Ta Kube/Ta Quai Temple and Tambon Thom/Ta Muen Thom. Therefore, Indians should not travel to these areas. It is advisable to avoid traveling to these areas due to conflict, military attacks and landmine explosions. Let us tell you that yesterday the Indian embassy issued an advisory for Thailand. Indians living in Thailand and Indians going to Thailand for tourism have been advised to be careful. Due to the ongoing border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia, people have been asked to avoid going to the cities on the border of Cambodia and Malaysia. People have been asked to avoid non-essential travels of evil Ram, C Saket, Surin, Ubon Ratthani and 8 districts of Canthaburi and Trat Provinces.
Marshal Law is applicable in 8 districts of Thailand
Advisory states that Yala, Pattani, Narathivat and Songkhala (Chana, Na Thawi, Thefa, Saba Yoi district), located on the border of Malaysia and Thailand, have been advised to avoid non-essential travels due to terrorist attacks and violent incidents in these areas as martial laws apply. Tourism sectors like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Pataya are usually safe, but it is advisable to take precautions. In an emergency, contact the Indian Embassy or Thai Tourist Police (1155).
