Kolkata, 11 November (HS). R.G. The trial is going to start in a special court from Monday today in the case of brutal rape and murder of a female junior doctor in Kar Medical College and Hospital in August. Charges were framed in this case against the main accused, civic volunteer Sanjay Roy, on November 4. After this, the start date of the trial was set for Monday.

This trial will be conducted rapidly and daily, so that the justice process can be completed quickly. This trial is starting 94 days after the incident when, on the morning of August 9, R.G. The body of the female doctor was found in the seminar hall of Kar Medical College. In this case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed its first charge sheet just 35 days before the trial, in which Sanjay Roy was named as the “prime accused” in the crime of rape and murder.

Recently, an oral appeal was made in the Supreme Court to transfer the case to another court outside West Bengal, which was approved by the then Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud rejected. Regarding this matter, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Subhendu Adhikari had also demanded change of court. He said that justice will never be given in this case under the rule of state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Sanjay Roy has recently termed the allegations against him as false and claimed that he has neither raped nor murdered. He alleged that he was threatened by his own departmental colleagues in Kolkata Police to remain silent.
