News India Live, Digital Desk: Mobile Network: If you are having problems related to connectivity from Jio or Airtel network, then the 4G network of public sector telecom company BSNL can be a better option for you. BSNL is rapidly expanding its 4G services and is now providing a strong connectivity option in many areas, especially in remote areas where private companies’ networks can weaken.

The process of obtaining 4G SIM of BSNL or upgrading your existing SIM to 4G is quite simple. First of all, you will have to go to your nearest BSNL Customer Service Center or authorized retailer. There you have to fill an application form to get 4G SIM. Along with the application form, you will also have to submit some necessary documents, including your Aadhaar card, identity proof (eg PAN card, driving license) and proof of address (eg electricity bill, voter ID). You will also have to give a picture of passport size.

After submitting documents and application form, if you are a new customer then you will get a new BSNL 4G SIM. If you are an existing customer, your old SIM will be upgraded to 4G. SIM activation may usually take 24 to 48 hours. After activation, you may have to update some settings on your mobile, especially if you are using old SIM. To activate 4G services, you may have to dial specific codes given by BSNL such as *537# or 53734.

Additionally, to run 4G internet in your smartphone, you have to configure APN (Access Point Name) settings correctly. You can go to the ‘Settings’ of your phone and set APN settings in ‘BSNLNET’ or ‘BSNL Securenet’ in ‘Mobile Network’ or ‘Access Name’ option, in which username and password are empty or default BSNL. By following these simple steps, you can take advantage of BSNL’s fast 4G internet services and get rid of problems related to Jio or Airtel’s network.
