Trump-Pak General Lunch Controvers: Congress surrounds Modi government, said ‘insult to India

News India Live, Digital Desk: Trump-Pak General Lunch Controversy : Congress has launched a scathing attack on the Modi government at the Center. The attack has been carried out on the case of the alleged meeting of former US President Donald Trump and a military officer of Pakistan. The Congress alleges that events like ‘Namaste Trump’ were only a show, and the truth is that Donald Trump invited a General of Pakistan (which was described as Asim Munir in some reports) on lunch (lunch).

Congress leaders Pawan Kheda and Jairam Ramesh Raised this issue on social media. Pawan Kheda asked, “What is the big insult of India to give Trump ‘lunch’ to a Pakistani General?” Taking a dig at the government, he said that Donald Trump, who stood with Prime Minister Modi in India, appreciated India’s economic success, progress here and poverty, how did he do so after returning from India? Kheda took a sarcasm and said that meeting PM Modi and calling the General of Pakistan at lunch on the very next day, what is the definition of “strong friendship”?

On the other hand, Jairam Ramesh in his comment called the entire incident as the ‘fake diplomacy’ of the Modi government. He said, “Was Namaste Trump only for the photo session?” Ramesh tried to dismiss the claims in which India was considered close to Donald Trump.

However, it is important to know here that Donald Trump had actually met the then military head of Pakistan in 2020 with the then military chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, whose picture has been often on social media. But the “lunch” and “Asim Munir” in media reports have not been officially confirmed by that news. It seems that the Congress’s charge may be based on older photographs or incomplete information than the current picture or facts.
