Two new high-speed corridors in Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur to Bhopal and Lakhnadoun to Raipur

News India Live, Digital Desk: The pace of development in Madhya Pradesh is now increasing. The state government has started important work on road infrastructure to make traffic smooth and fast. In this series, the National Highway Authority (NHAI) has started the process of preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for two new high-speed corridors in Jabalpur. The cost of both these high-speed corridors has been estimated at around 17 thousand crores.

Two high-speed corridor plans:

1. Jabalpur-Bhopal High-speed Corridor:
   • Jabalpur to Bhopal Greenfield high-speed corridor will be constructed at a cost of about 7 to 8 thousand crores.
   • This corridor will start from Jabalpur and reach Bhopal via Raisen via Nauradehi forest in Tendukheda. Due to this, the distance between Bhopal and Jabalpur will decrease about 100 kilometers to about 250 kilometers.
   • The traffic will not pass through the Aubedullaganj area, which will save both time and distance.
2. Lakhnadoun-Raipur High-speed Corridor:
   • At present, the distance of Raipur via Nagpur is about 400 kilometers. The new corridor will come out via Balaghat, which will reduce the distance 145 km to about 255 km.
   • This corridor will be constructed eight lanes, which will be like Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh.

High-speed corridor characteristics:

• Roads will be completely straight, so that the speed of vehicles will remain constant.
• There will be security shield on either side of the corridor to prevent accidents and ensure safe travel.
• Modern technology such as speed sensor and GPS tracking will also be available in the corridor.

The project is part of Vision 2047 of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, which aims to create better road infrastructure and acute traffic system in the state.
