News India Live, Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh, which was once considered backward on the parameters of development, is changing rapidly today. UP has achieved a major achievement on the economic front – it has emerged as India’s second largest economy. The government claims that this is the result of an environment of ‘fearless business’ and increased ‘confidence in doing business’, which has taken the state to this position.
How was this achieved?
The UP government says that they have greatly improved the ‘law and order’ situation in the state. With the crackdown on crimes, businessmen are now able to do their work without any fear. Additionally, the government has enacted ‘investor-friendly’ policies and removed barriers to doing business. This is the reason why domestic and foreign investors are now ready to invest money in the state, due to which industries are growing and new jobs are being created.
Strong hold of the economy:
There has been a significant increase in the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of Uttar Pradesh. Agriculture, industry and service sectors are continuously growing. The special thing is that in the last seven years, the government has paid special attention to these areas, due to which not only has the pace of economic development increased, but it is being claimed that the benefits of development have also reached the poor and the deprived.
New model of self-reliance and development:
The government’s emphasis is now on ‘self-reliance’ and ‘all-round development’. They are not only developing big cities, but also strengthening infrastructure (like roads, electricity, water) in small towns and rural areas. Better connectivity and electricity facilities have promoted small-scale industries even in villages, due to which people are able to increase their income.
However, the challenges are still not less. Creating sustainable opportunities for education, health and employment is still a big goal. Nevertheless, becoming the second largest economy in the country is a great achievement and shows that Uttar Pradesh is on the right path of development. In the coming times, it will be interesting to see how UP maintains its pace and further improves the standard of living of the people.
