Incidents of theft are happening every day but there are some incidents which spread panic. One such incident of theft has been seen in Uttar Pradesh.
This incident is being called the biggest theft in the state but the sad thing is that neither has anyone lodged a complaint nor has the police been able to solve it till now. The funny thing is that even though the police have recovered half of the stolen gold and lakhs of rupees, no one has come forward to claim this property till now. The incident is of Flat No. 301 of Silver City-2 Society located in Greater Noida. Here the thieves stole 36 kg of gold and Rs 6 crore in 2020. After 10 months of investigation, the police caught the thieves and recovered 17 kg of gold and Rs 57 lakh, but this incident happened when neither a case of theft was registered nor the seized goods were claimed. The name of the owner of the goods is not mentioned in the charge sheet filed by the police. Police said that 10 accused were involved in this case. Many of them have been arrested.
Even ED and Income Tax department are not interested
The police also wrote to the ED and the IT department to investigate the matter. But both the agencies are not interested in it, so this black money has gone haywire.' The question is who hid the cash and gold bricks worth crores. The police suspect that these items may be part of a racket.
What will happen to goods worth crores?
According to officials associated with the case, the hearing of the case is currently going on in the court. As long as the case is in court, the goods will remain safe in the treasury and then action will be taken as per the decision of the court. However, in such a case, the property which has no claimant is deposited with the government.
