India News Live, Digital Desk: India’s Under-19 team performed brilliantly and defeated England by 55 runs in the fourth ODI to win the Youth ODI series 3–1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vihaan Malhotra’s vigorous century laid the foundation of the team’s victory, while the bowlers took over the lead.
Vaibhav-Vihan pair rocked
Batting first after losing the toss, India initially lost the wicket of Ayush Mahatre, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vihaan Malhotra took the front. Vaibhav made a record of the fastest and youngest century in Youth ODI history, scoring a century in only 52 balls. He scored 143 runs in 78 balls with the help of 13 fours and 10 sixes.
Vihan Malhotra also did not lag behind from the other end. He played a strong innings of 129 runs in 121 balls which included 15 fours and 3 sixes. Together, the two scored to 233 runs. India finally scored 363 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs.
England starts well, but could not save the match
England started strong. By the time the first wicket fell, the scoreboard had taken 104 runs. Dowkins (67) and Moles (52) shared a good partnership, but later India’s bowling strengthened.
Rocky Flintoff definitely struggled and scored 107 runs from 91 balls, but the rest of the batsmen could not stand. Indian bowler Naman Pushpak broke the backbone of the English team by taking 3 wickets and Ambish with 2 wickets. England’s team was reduced to 308 runs and India won the match by 55 runs.
India captured 3-1 so far, one match remains
With this victory, India has taken an unassailable 3–1 lead in the five-match series. The last match of the series is now a formality.
