News India Live, Digital Desk: Even before the end of the year 2025, Vodafone Idea (Vi) has given a big shock to its customers. The company has quietly increased the price of one of its most popular annual plans. If you are also one of those millions of Vi users who wanted a year’s leisure time by doing a single recharge, then now you will have to loosen your pocket a little more.
Vi has directly increased the price of its Rs 1999 prepaid plan by Rs 250. Now for this plan the customers Rs 2249 Have to pay. The company says that in view of the increasing expenses in the telecom industry and the expansion of 5G network, it was becoming difficult to maintain the current rates, hence it was necessary to take this step.
So do the benefits also increase as the price increases?
Yes, to provide some relief to the customers, the company has increased the benefits of this plan along with increasing the price. Let us know what you will get now for Rs 2249:
- old price: 1999 rupees
- new price: Rs 2249
- Validity: 365 days like before
- Calling: Unlimited voice calling (on all networks)
- SMS: 3600 SMS for a year
- data: This is the biggest change. Earlier, in this plan, 24GB or 36GB data was available depending on the circle, but now it has been increased.
- in some circles now 30GB data (i.e. 6GB extra) will be available.
- Whereas, in some selected circles like Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Odisha 40GB data (i.e. 4GB extra) will be available.
Will other operators also increase prices?
Telecom industry experts believe that this step of Vi is just the beginning. It is expected that in December 2025 and early next year, other companies like Airtel and Jio may also increase their tariff plans by 10 to 15 percent.
It is clear that in the coming days, talking on mobile and using internet is going to become a little more expensive. If you want to avoid increased prices, it would be better to recharge a plan with longer validity as per your requirement at the current rates.
