News India Live, Digital Desk: Violence Taints Kanwar Yatra: Kavad Yatra is celebrated with great reverence all over the country, especially in North India, in the holy month of Sawan of Lord Shiva. Shiva devotees take their holy kanvad and go to get water from remote rivers and come back and offer water to the pagoda. This journey is usually a symbol of devotion, peace and cooperation, but sometimes some incidents occur on the streets that put black spots on this holy journey. One such untoward incident has come to light in Lakhimpur district of Uttar Pradesh, where a small collision on the road created an atmosphere of tension and a driver had to face serious consequences. According to the information, the matter is related to the Dhaka Purva village of Malani police station area. Here Shiva devotees were returning after completing their holy Kandar Yatra, when a kanwadi collided with a pickup vehicle on the road. The collision may have been small, but it heats up the atmosphere. The kanwadis immediately got angry due to the injuries of one of their companions and such obstacles in the religious journey. He came in a hire and stopped the vehicle and started arguing with the driver. The Kawandis took the law into their hands. The pickup driver started pushing and fighting. The mob beat the driver fiercely, causing him a lot of injuries. During this time there was a huge jam on the National Highway and the atmosphere became very tense. Traffic on the road stopped and the police force had to immediately reach the spot to handle the situation. As soon as the police came to know about the incident, the police team of Malani police station reached the spot and tried to control the situation. The police, showing readiness, controlled the crowd, so that the atmosphere does not deteriorate even more. The seriously injured pickup driver was immediately taken to the Community Health Center for treatment, where doctors gave him ointment. At the same time, injuries were also investigated and necessary treatment was also given to the kanwadis. Investigating officers are trying to understand how and why the whole dispute was enraged. In such a situation, when millions of devotees are on the streets, it becomes important that the driver drive with great vigilance and patience, and the devotees also follow the road safety rules, so that any untoward incident can be avoided. Such incidents not only become a challenge for law and order, but also question the sanctity of religious visits.
