The decision was given by a bench of Chief Justice Shri Chandrashekhar and Justice Navneet Kumar during the hearing of the petition of JSSC (Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission).

Why is ‘eclipse’ on the result?

This whole matter is related to the paper leak in the JSSC CGL examination held on January 28 this year. Soon after the examination conducted, its question papers went viral on social media, after which there was a huge uproar. The government had to cancel this examination after the students’ tremendous protests and protests.

In view of the seriousness of the case, the High Court had taken suo automatically and stayed the publication of the result till the complete investigation process was completed.

What is the commission argued in the court?

The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) filed a petition in the High Court demanding the removal of this ban. It was argued by the Commission that the examination has been canceled and the government has also formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the matter, which is investigating. Therefore, now there is no point in keeping the results banned and the Commission should be allowed to start further process.

Why did the High Court not listen to the commission?

However, the High Court did not accept these arguments of the Commission. The court, taking a very tough stance, said that the ban on the result will not be lifted until the entire investigation report of SIT is revealed in the paper leak case.

The court said that the matter is related to the future of thousands of students and it is very important to ensure that the entire selection process is transparent and fair. Until the investigation is completed and it is not clear who was involved in this rigging, the results cannot be allowed to be released.

What will happen next?
