News India Live, Digital Desk: Monalisa, who became famous on social media for her simplicity and pictures during Kumbh, is once again in the headlines, but this time the reason is her marriage. After the pictures of her wedding with Farman Khan went viral, it started being linked to ‘love jihad’ and forced conversion on the internet. Now Monalisa herself has come forward and rejected these claims outright.
Monalisa’s blunt explanation: During a media interview, Monalisa clearly said that her marriage is completely based on her own wish and consent. He provided clarity on key points:
Marriage pressure: Monalisa revealed that Farman did not pressure her, rather she herself convinced Farman for marriage.
Denial of Love Jihad: He said that there is no ‘love jihad’ angle in their relationship. This is love between two human beings, in which there is no wall of religion.
Truth of religious conversion: Monalisa clarified that no pressure has been put on her to change her religion nor has she changed her religion.
Root of controversy: The matter escalated when some organizations on social media started giving it a communal colour. In some posts it was claimed that a Hindu girl was seduced and converted to her religion. Monalisa has termed these reports as “hateful and misleading”.
Farman Khan’s side: At the same time, Farman Khan also said that both of them respect each other and want to ignore the people who spread hatred in the society. He has appealed that his personal life should not be given political colour.
