Prayagraj, 30 September (HS). While addressing the main function of Official Language Fortnight at North Central Railway Headquarters, General Manager Upendra Chandra Joshi said that Hindi is not just a language but a culture. Hindi is a symbol of the national values that we have inherited from our rich cultural and historical heritage. These reflect the basic spirit of our Constitution. On this occasion, he awarded 96 officers and employees of Railways.
Addressing the officers and employees present, the General Manager said that this year 75 years of the historic day of Hindi Diwas have been completed on 14th September. Therefore, this official language fortnight has its own special significance in connection with the diamond jubilee of Hindi Diwas being celebrated this year. As the link language and lingua franca of the country, Hindi reflects the concept of unity in diversity. He said that the entire area of North Central Railway has been a bastion of rich heritage of literature and culture. This area has been the birthplace or workplace of well-known Hindi litterateurs and Hindi has become rich and refined in this area.
The General Manager said that Prayagraj is also called the capital of literature and culture. It is the moral responsibility of all the officers and employees working in this literary zone to witness the great contribution and fame of poets and litterateurs like Sur, Tulsi, Maithili Sharan Gupt, Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi, Suryakant Tripathi Nirala, Sumitranandan Pant, Mahadevi Verma and Harivansh Rai Bachchan. That we should use Hindi more and more in all our work with full sense of duty. Shri Joshi said that in Kumbh, we have to demonstrate the feeling of unity in our cultural diversity by providing information and services about passenger facilities through Hindi to the passengers.
On this occasion, Chief Official Language Officer and Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer Satendra Kumar said that our country is a vast country with diverse languages and dialects. He said that to increase the work in Hindi on computers, continuous Hindi workshops, Hindi keying workshops, seminars on the birth anniversaries of famous litterateurs, literary programs, poetry conferences and poetry readings and various other events are organized in the headquarters, divisions and factories on the occasion of important occasions. Competitions were organized. He said that for their excellent work in Hindi, North Central Railway's Chief Personnel Officer Administration Mudit Chandra and Chief Traffic Planning Manager Rajesh Kumar will be awarded the Railway Minister's Official Language Silver Medal.
On this occasion, an attractive official language exhibition of the work being done in Hindi was organized in the departments. In the exhibition, the Signal and Telecommunication Department was given the shield of the best exhibition, the Mechanical Department was given the second prize trophy and the General Administration Department was given the third prize trophy. Apart from this, awards were also given to the winners of competitions and 96 officers and employees who did excellent work in Hindi. Additional General Manager J.S. participated in the program. Lakra and all the major department heads along with a large number of other senior officers and employees were present.
