Bones not only provide shape and support to the body, but also make daily activities, whether small or large, possible. Strong bones maintain calcium balance in the body, provide energy to muscles and keep teeth healthy. Bone density decreases with age, so it is very important to have strong bones.

Weak bones are not just a simple health problem; These can also cause many types of diseases. First, weak bones dramatically increase the risk of fractures. Additionally, weakness can cause joint pain, back and waist stiffness, mobility problems and decreased stamina. Osteoporosis, calcium deficiency and vitamin D deficiency are also its factors. Weak bones impair balance in the elderly, increasing the risk of falls.

Dr. Akhilesh Yadav told that weakness of bones can be due to many reasons. The most common cause is a lack of calcium and vitamin D in the diet, both of which are important for strong bones. Spending less time in the sun also causes vitamin D deficiency. As we age, especially after menopause in women, bones also start becoming thinner.

Lack of physical activity, sedentary work, smoking and excessive consumption of processed food weaken the bones. Thyroid, kidney disease and long-term use of medications like steroids can also reduce bone density. Therefore, a balanced lifestyle and nutrition is important.

How to avoid? – Go out in the sun for 15-20 minutes every morning. Include foods rich in calcium and vitamin D in your diet. Walk regularly, do yoga or strength exercises. Reduce junk food/soda intake.
