News India Live, Digital Desk: Amidst the scorching heat and rising mercury in Bihar for the last few days, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued both relief and warning. Due to sudden cloud cover and dust storm in many districts of the state, the temperature has increased. 2 to 3 degrees Celsius A decline has been recorded. However, meteorologists have predicted heavy rain in more than 18 districts of the state during the next 24 to 48 hours. Thunderstorm & Lightning ‘Yellow alert’ has been issued regarding this.

Effect of western disturbance and cyclonic winds

According to Patna Meteorological Centre, there has been a change in the atmosphere of Bihar due to the active Western Disturbance in North India and moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal.

The Meteorological Department has asked to take special precautions for the districts of North and East Bihar:

North Bihar: There may be light rain with thunder in Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Darbhanga and Samastipur.

Seemanchal and East Bihar: There are chances of heavy rain with strong winds in Purnia, Katihar, Araria and Kishanganj.

South Bihar: Weather in districts like Buxar, Gaya and Rohtas may remain dry, but dust storm may occur in the evening.

Important advice for farmers

This month of March is very important for the harvesting of Rabi crops and the harvest of mango and litchi.

Crop Protection: In case of strong storm and hailstorm, mango trees may get damaged. Farmers have been advised to keep the harvested crops in safe places.

Caution: Due to the possibility of thunderstorm, do not stay under trees or in open fields during thunderstorms.
