According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), if a driver completes 200 trips before a year, he will have two options available:
Purchase of new ATP: If 200 trips are completed, the driver will have to buy a new annual toll pass of Rs 3,000 again. This pass will also be valid for one year or 200 trips. NHAI has clarified that there is no limit on the purchase of ATP, that is, the driver can buy as many ATPs as he wants.
Payment through fastag: If a driver wants to buy a new ATP, he can pay toll tax through his fastag account. In this situation, the toll amount will automatically be cut from the fastag account according to the normal rate.
The aim of this new policy is to provide flexibility to the motorists, so that they can use ATP or fastag according to their requirements.
What will happen if it is reduced by 200 trips?
If a driver does not complete 200 trips a year, he will not be returned to the amount of the remaining trip. That is, after one year, the validity of ATP will end and the amount of the remaining trip will be over. Therefore, this pass is more beneficial for those who travel regularly on the National Highway. For example, if you travel on Delhi-Chandigarh (NH-44), where one-way journey costs around Rs 325 as a toll, then from ATP you can make 50 unilateral trips for just Rs 3,000, which is quite economical.
Benefits of ATP
Time savings: There will be no need to stop at the toll plaza, as the ATP will be connected to the fastag and the payment will be automatic.
Financial Benefits: A lump sum of Rs 3,000 will give the benefit of toll-free travel up to 200 trips, which can save up to 50% compared to regular toll payment.
Simple process: NHAI website, highway travel app or toll plaza office can be used to buy ATP. For this, the registration number of the vehicle and the registered mobile number will be required.
resilience: It is not mandatory to buy ATP. Drivers can continue using fastag as per their convenience.
How to buy ATP?
Go to the official website of NHAI, highway travel app or nearest toll plaza office.
Enter your vehicle registration number and registered mobile number.
Select the respective toll plaza.
Pay Rs 3,000 through UPI, Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.
Your ATP will be activated within 24 hours of payment and will connect to your fastag account.
Will ATP apply to all highways?
According to NHAI, ATP will be valid only on the expressway operated by national highways and NHAI. This pass will not be valid on some state highways and private expressways. Therefore, it is important to check the validity of ATP on a particular route before the journey.
The new annual toll pass plan 2025 is a revolutionary step for regular highway passengers. A lump sum payment of Rs 3,000 can be used to avail toll-free travel up to 200 trips, which will save both time and money. After completion of 200 trips, motor drivers can buy a new ATP or use fastag. This scheme is especially beneficial for regular passengers, such as traders, students and employed people.
