News India Live, Digital Desk: These days the color of politics has dissolved in the air of Bihar. From Patna to village chaupalas, only one question is echoing everywhere – who will become the next Chief Minister of Bihar in 2025? With the announcement of election dates, the political temperature in the state has risen and Bihar is fully prepared for another exciting electoral battle.

The public will give its verdict on a total of 243 assembly seats in the state. On one hand, the NDA alliance led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is once again staking its claim to return to power on the basis of its development works and experience, while on the other hand, the Mahagathbandhan led by Tejashwi Yadav is in the fray to give a tough competition to the government with the slogan of employment and change.

There are two big players in the field

This time the election contest mainly focuses between two powerful alliances:

  • NDA: The command of this camp is in the hands of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal (United) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This alliance has entered the electoral fray with the national face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the local experience of Nitish Kumar. Big leaders of BJP, like Home Minister Amit Shah, are also holding massive rallies in Bihar and targeting Tejashwi Yadav by reminding him of the old RJD rule.
  • Grand Alliance: The face of this alliance is Tejashwi Yadav, whose party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is leading it. Congress and other parties are also part of this alliance. In his rallies, Tejashwi is making big promises like employment for youth, better prices than MSP to farmers and financial help to women. After a long time, Lalu Prasad Yadav is also seen in election rallies, which has filled the RJD workers with new enthusiasm.

What are the election issues and equations?

Bihar elections depend not only on slogans and promises, but also to a great extent on caste equations on the ground. All the parties are paying full attention to caste arithmetic while deciding candidates till campaigning.

However, this time a good thing is being seen that political parties are also expressing confidence in educated and young faces. According to statistics, this time about 62% of the candidates are graduates or more educated, which includes doctors, engineers and professors.

Talking about election promises, tempting promises are being made from both the sides. While Tejashwi Yadav has taken a big gamble of giving Rs 30,000 annually in the accounts of women, NDA is calling the development and law and order done in Bihar as its biggest achievement. Amidst all this, women voters can once again make or break the game of any party by becoming ‘silent voters’.

As the voting day is approaching, the speeches of the leaders are becoming more sharp and the election excitement is increasing. Now it will be interesting to see whose arguments and promises the people of Bihar approve of and when the results will be declared on November 14, who will be crowned as the state of Bihar.
