The number of cyber crimes in India is increasing rapidly, in view of which the Digital Security Campaign WHT Now has taken an important step. He has started the National Youth Ambassador program in partnership with universities and colleges across the country. The initiative aims to train over 5,000 students as “Digital First Responors” by the end of 2025. This program is becoming necessary, because incidents like sex -sharing, cyberbulling and online exploitation are increasing.

According to 2025 data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), there has been a huge increase in cyber crimes in the country by 24.4% and more than 65,000 FIRs have been registered. According to experts, these figures do not reflect the actual picture, as many victims, especially women and minor, do not report due to fear, social stigma and lack of information.

Niti Goyal, the founder of WHT Now says, “This is a movement, no initiative.” “We are currently seeing a dangerous trend of silence against online misconduct. Our aim is to empower youth with information, confidence and solidarity, so that they can bring positive digital changes.”

Young ambassadors participating in this program will be provided intensive training on cyber law, reporting procedures, psychological first aid and digital morality. The program will include practical workshops, cyber security and consultation sessions by legal experts, as well as the installation of digital safety cells in college premises.

Akshat Khaitan, co-founder and legal advisor of the organization, says, “Our experience suggests that many victims are scared and do not know what to do. The trained ambassadors will provide them with immediate assistance and guidance.”

Aneka Goyal has been elected a global youth ambassador to give wide dimension to this movement. He said at that time, “I am not here for others, I have come here to talk to him.” “The digital world is full of opportunities, but there are also risks. Only through compassion, unity and knowledge we can overcome this crisis.”

So far more than 40 educational institutions have shown interest in this campaign. The long -term goal of the WhT Now is to create an effective digital safety network across India through trained ambassadors. The helpline can be contacted at +91-9019115115. This initiative will be implemented in a phased manner from May 2025.
