This is the same auspicious day when Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita got married in Treta Yuga. This holy festival is celebrated every year on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month. It is believed that whoever worships Ram-Sita with true heart on this day, all the problems of his married life go away. Everyone knows that after marriage, Mother Sita had to endure 14 years of exile with Lord Ram. During his exile, Ravana, the king of Lanka, abducted him and he had to remain a prisoner in Ashok Vatika for a year.

Even after returning from Lanka, she faced the ordeal and had to leave the palace while pregnant and live in the forest. He also raised his two sons Luv and Kush alone. Remembering the hardships and sorrows that Mother Sita faced in her married life, parents are afraid of marrying their daughters on this day. They worry that if they get married on the day of Vivah Panchami, their daughter’s life may also be filled with troubles like Sita Mata.
