Security officers of the Home Department (DHS) visited Gurdwaras of New York and New Jersey to investigate illegal immigrants. After this search operation, resentment spread in the Sikh community. Donald Trump has started major action against illegal migrants as soon as he takes power. The Trump administration has deported hundreds of foreigners living illegally in the US in 6 days.
A sense of resentment in the Sikh community
The Sikh community is criticizing the Trump administration for taking out illegal immigrants. Many people are facing a tough investigation with this action. The Sikh community says that such investigation and action are hurting their faith. The Sikh community also said that this order is unfair. Service work is going on in the gurudwara. In view of this, the US police started an investigation operation at Gurudwaras in New York and New Jersey. Sikhs are believed to have been using some non-dominant immigrants in New York and New Jersey along with separatists.
“Investigation in gurudwara inappropriate”
SALDEF Executive Director Kiran Kaur Gill said that it is unfair to target religious places for investigation. This decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs is a matter of concern. Places like gurudwaras provide food and shelter to people. This does not mean that there is any illegal activity going on. Such orders and search operations create a sense of mistrust in the public.
The Brazilian government has also sought clarification from the Trump government for inhuman behavior with Brazilians during exile. During this withdrawal, the United States seated the people of Brazil in the same aircraft and sent them back to their country without providing them basic facilities. Brazil has expressed its anger over this transaction.
