1. Why only the right hand? (religious reasons)

In Sanatan Dharma the right organ is considered ‘auspicious’ and ‘sacred’:

Abode of divine element: It is believed that the gods reside in the right hand and the energy emanating from it is positive.

Right path (Dakshinamarga): In the scriptures, the right hand is considered a symbol of religion and karma. The left hand is often used for impure works or ‘Pitra’ works, hence it is considered taboo for auspicious works and blessings.
